Zergon
Zergon (Aleš Hieng) is a DJ, music producer, and sound artist based in Ljubljana. He is a member of the Synaptic Crew collective and works extensively in audio-visual performances and the realm of DIY electronics.
Zergon’s interests span both club music and sound exploration, as well as audio-visual experimentation. His sound ranges from deep house and techno to IDM, noise, and abstract drone.
His live performances are rooted in improvisation, featuring live programming of rhythmic and melodic sequences, shaping rhythmic elements, sound creation on synthesizers, effects playing, and mixing musical components with field recordings.
You can find his tracks on various Chilli Space and Kamizdat compilations, as well as on his Bandcamp page. His latest release, the NUSENT EP, was issued by the Ljubljana-based label Tehnopolis.
Zergon collaborated with artist Robertina Šebjanič on the audio-visual project echo 10-9. He is also a co-author of the ongoing sound-chemical installation Time Displacement – Chemobrionic Garden, created in collaboration with Robertina Šebjanič and Ida Hiršenfelder. This installation was exhibited at the Ars Electronica festival in Linz in 2016 as part of the Radical Atoms exhibition and later featured in the group exhibition The Beauty of Early Life at ZKM Karlsruhe. Additionally, he co-created the sound installation Sound Disposition – Crystal Gardens with the same artists.
