shape(s)witch
shape(s)witch is an electronic audio project by two cyborgs who use DIY synthesizers and samplers to create live transitions from a cisnormative to a chimeric future. The tensions and anxieties of post-capitalist cis hell, in which the cyborgs find themselves, are released through signal emissions that sometimes sound melancholic but never succumb to despair.
The DIY approach to building synths demands thoughtful consideration of purpose, configuration, visual design, and connectivity. The cyborgs have similar reflections on their bodies, though in this realm, their DIY ethics are hindered by laws, bureaucracy, and institutions. They dream of cutting off arms, legs, genitals, hair, breasts, hands, and feet to gradually reassemble themselves — soldering together what fits and putting aside what does not.
shape(s)witch is composed of lora and ebe.
